SUBJECT: “TO ASK WHO GOD IS . . .WE MUST FIRST ASK WHO MAN IS.”
There is no creature in the whole universe more important to God than man. Man is God’s crowning achievement in all creation. Why you ask? . . .Because we are made in His image. There is no greater value that God could have given men and women than to have made us in His own holy image.
God’s unsearchable love for man is why the Son of God (Jesus Christ) came to earth to restore our broken relationship with Him which was caused by man’s rebellion against God’s holy righteousness and commandments.
“For ALL have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
This means you, me and the rest of mankind.
“Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves, to obey, his servant ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness. . . For the wages of sin is death, but the ‘GIFT’ of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:16,23)
Hell is the place where those who reject God’s love are sentenced to spend eternity separated from a holy God forever. Jesus tells us that hell is a place:
“. . . where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.” (Mark 9:44)
No man is sent to hell by God. In fact, man sends himself to hell by rejecting God’s gift of salvation through His Son Jesus Christ:
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God [Jesus Christ].” (John 3:16-18)
“But God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ . . . For by ‘GRACE’ are ye saved through ‘FAITH’, and that not of yourselves: it is the ‘GIFT’ of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:4,5,8,9)
The penalty for sin is death [physical and spiritual]. Our holy God must judge sin. He also knows that man has no ability to pay the penalty for sin on his own. The Lord’s purpose in creating man was to have fellowship with him in heaven forever. It is our sin that keeps us from knowing and fellowshipping with God. Because of God the Father’s great love for all mankind, He sent His Son Jesus Christ, as a perfect and sinless man, to pay the penalty for our sins. The Bible tells us:
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6)
“. . . For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that He was buried, and that He rose again on the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, He was seen of above five hundred brethren at once. . . “ (1 Corinthian 15:3-6)
The Lord God is patient, longsuffering and desirous that each of us would know Him and be saved from our sin. He offers you the free gift of salvation through His Son Jesus Christ. It does not matter what station in life you find yourself. You cannot buy your salvation from the Lord. You can’t work your way into heaven. The only way to be saved from your sins is through the grace and mercy of God and by receiving His free gift of salvation – the substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Cross.
To receive God’s gift of love all you have to do is ‘accept it’. You do not have to pay anything for it. With an humble, honest and repentant heart say the following prayer:
- I believe Jesus Christ paid the penalty for my sins when He was crucified on a Cross at Calvary
- I believe Jesus Christ died, was buried and rose from the dead on the 3rd day and ascended into heaven
- Lord, please forgive me of my sins and send your Holy Spirit into my heart to seal me and to guide me as your child and follower of your Son Jesus Christ,
- Thank you Lord for hearing my prayer, forgiving me of my sins and making me a child of God

P.S. If you are having difficulty receiving Jesus Christ as your Savior, simply pray to the Lord and ask Him to help you. He will answer an honest and humble inquiry directly:
“And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.” (Mark 9:24)
“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, . . . but is longsuffering to usward, not willing that any should perish; but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)

If we are honest with ourselves, we must admit that we have broken God’s laws. Ask yourself how well you match up against God’s Ten Commandments. Without the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ none of us can keep God’s Commandments:
